Toucan teams up with global payments company AMEX

Toucan has teamed up with multinational company American Express (AMEX) as it embarks on its mission to revolutionise charitable giving.

From 14th March until 29th July 2022, AMEX customers who donate £20 via the Toucan app will get £1 back on their credit statement. This is the first offer of its kind for AMEX.

Toucan launched its app last month (February 2022) and appeared on BBC Dragons’ Den, where founders Matt and Melody received a rare five-way offer from all of the Dragons before securing investment from the newest addition, Steven Bartlett.

In response to the urgent humanitarian crisis, Toucan has also put in place its dedicated Spotlight Fund for Ukraine. The company launched this campaign in collaboration with six fellow Dragons’ Den alumni; Fussy, Berczy, thelittleloop, Rheal Foods, Toddle and The Cheese Geek, in a bid to generate £100,000 in donations. The money will go to three charities working on the ground: Chernobyl Children’s Lifeline, Ukraine Charity, and Disaster Emergency Committee.

The app’s partnership with AMEX is the latest in a number of high-profile collaborations; Toucan has also recently joined forces with fashion retail giant H&M, Swapi, Perkbox, Wrkit, Tahora and Vivup to boost its ambitions of making donating to charity fun, flexible and accessible.

Matt Crate, CEO at Toucan: “To have a partnership with a global brand like AMEX that recognises Toucan’s mission is momentous for us. The company shares our vision to revolutionise the charitable giving process and make donating to charity fun, flexible and accessible. We’re really excited about this partnership and we hope together we can continue to build a community of donors.”
